Ogury’s Spotlight Series | Gabriela Suárez García

On paper, Gabriela Suárez García is Ogury’s Culture Lead. But her story goes far beyond any job title. Through Ogury’s Spotlight Series, we explore the passion and perspective she brings to shaping a workplace where people, purpose, and culture truly come to life—both professionally and personally.

Can you tell us a bit about your role as Culture Lead and what a “typical” day looks like for you at Ogury?

As Culture Lead, my role sits at the intersection of people, purpose, and communication. I work closely with teams across the business to ensure our values and standards aren’t just words on a slide, but something people genuinely experience every day.

A “typical” day might involve partnering with stakeholders on engagement initiatives, shaping internal communications, supporting wellbeing or ESG programs, and most importantly, listening. Really listening. No two days are the same, which is exactly what I love about my job.

What does “culture” mean to you in practice, and how do you make it come alive across teams and locations?

To me, culture is what happens when no one’s watching: how people treat each other, make decisions, and show up during both good and challenging moments. In practice, it’s about creating the right conditions for people to thrive and building an environment where everyone feels safe bringing their authentic selves to work.

It’s not about big slogans or posters on the wall—it’s about everyday behaviors that consistently reinforce who we are and what we stand for.

Is there a culture, wellbeing, or DE&I initiative you’re especially proud of, and why did it resonate with you personally?

I’m especially proud of the wellbeing program we built from the ground up. Through this work, I saw firsthand how deeply wellbeing impacts how people feel, show up, and perform at work.

It was never a one-person effort, and one of the most rewarding parts was collaborating with people to bring it to life. Seeing it genuinely resonate with employees, and knowing it helps people feel more supported, made this initiative incredibly meaningful to me.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to build a career centered on people, culture, and communication?

Stay curious and empathetic. Listen more than you speak, and never underestimate the power of asking thoughtful questions. Culture work isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about creating the conditions for others to succeed.

And be patient. Real cultural change takes time, trust, and consistency.
